Each set includes 1 white worktop bin and 1 removable inner basket. Compostable liners are not included.
Can the Compost Genie® countertop bin be used with or without compostable bags?
Yes. The Compost Genie® countertop bin is designed for flexible use. It can be used with standard compostable liners (approx. 5 L), which can be secured in place using the built-in hooks, or without liners by placing food waste directly into the removable inner bucket. Once full, the inner bucket can be easily lifted and emptied into your outdoor compost bin or local food waste caddy.
Are the components of the Compost Genie® countertop bin dishwasher safe?
No. The lid and inner basket are hand-wash only. The lid can be removed for easy cleaning, and the smooth interior surfaces with no hard-to-reach corners help prevent residue build-up.
What types of food waste can I put in the Compost Genie® bin?
The Compost Genie® countertop bin is suitable for common kitchen organic food scraps such as fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds, tea leaves and crushed eggshells. Always follow your local council’s food waste guidelines if using municipal collection, as accepted materials may vary by area.
